Overview
This study is looking to assess visual function tests in people with non-exudative age-related macular degeneration (AMD) – the leading cause of visual impairment in the elderly of developed countries. There are no current approved treatments for dry AMD (the most common type of AMD) and this study hopes to develop research into different stages of the disease and possible treatments.
Study Information
In this study, researchers are looking for 200 participants in four different groups: a normal population, early dry AMD population, intermediate dry AMD population, and advanced dry AMD population. Each of the four groups will undergo a battery of vision tests including dark adaptation, reading tests, color vision function, and shape discrimination.
